Actuator center-of-gravity comparison
Compared the mass properties of two actuator assemblies in NX to support a design-viability decision.
07 · Collins Aerospace · 2024–2026
Engineering work that makes recurring calculations, design decisions, and technical information easier for a team to use.
2024
I recreated a Mathcad-based C-ring calculator in Excel to give colleagues a familiar alternative with the same functionality. I also created a user guide to support the transition.
2024
I updated Excel fluid-property macros to reflect revised handbook equations and guidance. A comparison document and updating guide helped colleagues understand the changes and maintain the macros.
2024–2025
Work on valve and actuator databases involved organizing component information for future design and selection tasks. The 2024 effort made progress but remained incomplete at that stage.
In 2025, I used drawings and NX models to document actuator material makeup and added that information to the internal database.
2024
I evaluated internal engineering tools as a first-time user, recording completion time and feedback. The work established a reference for usability and future comparisons.
The presentation reports approximately 32.33 hours on average across three baselined tools. This is a measured baseline duration, not a claim of hours saved.
